Location

The main Me2We 3-day event will take place on Stanford University’s campus at 450 Jane Stanford Way, Stanford, California. Specific venue details will be shared closer to the dates. In addition, there will be off-campus activities, including field trips (Silicon Valley, Bay Area) and social meetups, so watch out for further details.

Accommodations

Hotels in the area center around the areas within Silicon Valley – in particular, Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and Mountain View. There are few hotels within walking distance of campus, so you will want to consider transportation options such as public transport, rideshare, and driving (or carpooling).

After registration the Committee will email details of hotels that we have negotiated discounted rates for the Me2We period.

In addition to hotels, there are extensive Airbnb options in the area. Visiting LEADers often self-organize house sharing at Airbnb. Following registration, the Me2We 2025 Committee will share a spreadsheet for you to express an interest in house sharing.

Transportation

Three airports service the Bay Area:  San Francisco (SFO), Oakland (OAK) and San Jose (SJC).  Public and private transportation options are readily available from the airports to the Palo Alto area.

To travel to campus from other parts of the Bay Area, you can take the BART, CalTrain, local buses, or Rideshare (Uber and Lyft are popular).

A free bus service, the Marguerite shuttle, runs from Palo Alto Station and around campus.

Car rental

In addition to standard car rental companies, turo.com offers rentals directly from owners, similar to the Airbnb model.

If you need a Visa to attend, please fill out the Invitation Letter Request form.

Travel Dates

Optional social activities and meetups usually occur in and around Me2We, including the days before and after the main 3-day event.

Many LEADers choose to arrive on Saturday to be ready to engage in unofficial weekend social meetups before Me2We.

They sometimes extend their stay until Thursday night, Friday, or even Saturday to attend social meetups that may be organized after the official 3-day Me2We.

Social activities will be organized separately by LEADers for LEADers; they are not managed by the Me2We 2025 committee, but we can help make them visible. Be sure to coordinate with your peers to meet them in person before, during, or after the main event. Details will be provided closer to the event.

Expected Expenses

Prices in Palo Alto and San Francisco are comparable to any major city in the US. You can expect the following:

  • Dinner in restaurants ranges from $75 up to $150 with drinks.
  • Nightly hotel rates fluctuate between $185-$500, excluding taxes. Airbnb are comparable, although costs can be reduced by renting a private room, or by sharing accommodation.

Please see accommodation information following your registration.

We will also share suggested restaurants across a broad price range.

If you are staying in a popular hotel you might benefit from coordinating rideshare or carpooling to reduce and share costs.
