This Privacy Policy explains how the Me2We non-profit (“the Me2We” non-profit, “we”, “us”, “our”), and all entities affiliated or associated with the Me2We non-profit (if applicable), collects, uses, shares and stores information in connection with the use of the website https://me2we2025.com (“the Website”), and related third-party services connected with the organization, registration, ticketing and management of the Me2We event (“Me2We”).

About Me2We

 

Me2We is the flagship annual event for the Stanford LEAD community to meet and learn from each other. Me2We is open exclusively to Eligible Participants as defined in our Terms & Conditions.

Me2We is organized by a committee composed of volunteers from the LEAD Community. A new committee is appointed annually to run each annual event. In 2025, Me2We will take place in March 2025 (“Me2We 2025”). Me2We 2025 will be the 10th annual Me2We event; it will be organized by the Me2We 2025 committee (the “Committee”).

The Committee is running the operations of Me2We under the umbrella of the Me2We non-profit, incorporated in California in September 2024 as a non-profit public benefit corporation. The Me2We non-profit is in the process of seeking 501(c)3 status.

Purpose of the Website

 

We use the website address https://me2we2025.com to share information on Me2We 2025, to process the registration of the participants to Me2We 2025, to allow users to purchase tickets and for communication purposes related to Me2We 2025.

1.   Data Collection

 

We may collect data, inter alia, when you:

  • Register for an event;
  • Purchase tickets;
  • Submit inquiries through the contact forms; and/or
  • Login, post comments or media through our third-party services or on the Website, if applicable.

We may use third-party services such as analytics, social media plugins, event management or payment processing partners. The data may be shared with these providers to improve user experience.

We may collect various types of data through the Website and/or through third-party services, including:

  • Comments, media, and images, if applicable;
  • IP address, device type, browser type, and user behavior (via cookies or analytics);
  • Names, email addresses, phone numbers and other personal data that may be collected through forms for communication, subscriptions, account registrations or ticket purchase, if applicable.

Some functionalities (login, posting comments, uploading media, gravatar, publishing an article) are not currently on the Website but may be activated in the future.

If applicable, when you leave comments on the Website, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

If applicable, an anonymized string (also called a hash) created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture would be visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If applicable, if you upload images to the Website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) because visitors to the Website may download and extract these data from images on the Website.

We may use cookies to:

  • save login and display preference;
  • track visitor and behavior via analytics; and
  • Improve functionality for returning users

If you leave a comment on the Website, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If applicable, if you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

If applicable, if you log in on the Website, we will set up several cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days, and screen options cookies last a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If applicable, if you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.

2.   Use of Data

 

We may use your information for the following purposes:

Password Reset   

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

We work with third-party service providers to assist with website operations, payment processing (e.g. Stripe), and event management (e.g. Brella). These providers have access to your data solely to perform tasks on our behalf and are obligated to maintain the confidentiality of your information. Their services enhance or complement the website functionality. These services may collect and process your personal data, including information related to ticket sales and payments:

  • Brella: used for event management and ticket sales. Their privacy policy is here.
  • Stripe: Used for secure payment processing. Their privacy policy is available here.
  • Google Analytics: used for analyzing website usage. Their privacy policy is available here.

Payment information processed by Stripe is not stored by us. 

Other Third-Parties

Collected data may be shared with relevant third parties to support the effective organization and management of Me2We. 

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this website may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites (e.g. YouTube) behaves exactly the same way as you had visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Legal Compliance

We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to a legal request to comply with regulatory obligations or protect our legal rights.

4.   Data Retention

 

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is to recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

If you use the website to register for Me2We, the personal information you provide in your user profile is stored indefinitely. You can see, edit, or delete your personal information at any time (except you cannot change your username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Data related to cookies or analytics is retained for up to 14 months based on your interactions. Session cookies are usually deleted after you      close      the      browser.      

Where your data is sent

If applicable, your comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

5.   Your rights and choices

 

 If you have an account on this website, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data held about you, including any data you have provided to us.

You can also request to erase any personal data held about you. This does not include any data that we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

If you are a resident of California, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) regarding your personal data. These include:

The website is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. In compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
