Speaker Bio

Coming from the world of stage and screen initially, Dr. Leryn Messori pivoted to psychology as a profession in 2011 to be more aligned with her values. She obtained her PsyD from Antioch University, Santa Barbara in 2016, training in government and correctional programs. Leryn moved up to the bay area with her husband in 2015 and was a psychological associate at The Wise Mind Institute learning Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She is currently training and receiving supervision from the team that created Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT) in the United Kingdom.

Dr. Leryn Messori served as President for the Alameda County Psychological Association (ACPA) for 2023 & 2024 and is currently the Membership Chair for the California Psychological Association’s (CPA) Division VII on Social Justice and Diversity. With CPA, she has walked in the San Francisco Pride Parade to promote equal mental health treatment for all and lobbied in Sacramento discussing how mental health needs are affected by Assemblymember’s bills. Continuing her leadership development, Leryn recently became The Wise Mind Institute’s Director of Operations. While she adores meeting people and public speaking, her favorite place to be is snuggling with her two young children.
