One Step

Simple Yet Powerful Move

Manasa Nimmala

Description

I’m Manasa Nimmala currently working as a Senior Manufacturing Systems Engineer at Amgen and I am also working as a Global Communication Chair at Amgen Culture Exchange Network – a Diversity, inclusion and Belonging organization at Amgen.

The goal of my presentation is to focus on exploring leadership and creating impact. Before starting my professional career, I faced lot of challenges in life, like people undermining belittling me, and other challenges. In my life, when I was afraid to make my choices, I was always inspired by great leaders like my father. In my career, people judged my ability based on my looks. At first, these things affected me negatively, but stories of great people who overcame these adversities inspired me to achieve my goals.

I moved to the US for my Masters. Being a woman, my parents were scared, but still encouraged me to pursue my goals. It was difficult at first, but I embraced the challenges and moved forward with greater pace. I worked in companies such as Tekmill, Capgemini, Tiffany and Co, Teradyne, and currently in Amgen. I worked on huge innovation projects with high Market Cap and led the larger group of people to success. Currently as a Global Communication chair for ACE at Amgen, I work with people from different cultures, countries, race and creed. I took that one step every time overcoming hurdles which improved me as a leader.

In this event, I would like to talk or discuss about taking that one step to success or failure every time despite the circumstances. I also want to speak about the story of people who inspired me, along with my experiences, failures ultimately leading me and people who follow me to success. I would be grateful to share experiences with various leaders and try to bring the positive impact to the audience in this event.
