Description

Do you ever feel guilty or inadequate as a parent or a leader? What if I told you that these challenges could actually unlock your full potential as a leader? Parenting is leadership’s ultimate boot camp. It is where we learn resilience, adaptability, and empathy. This interactive presentation, “Parenting Perils to Leadership Parallels,” explores the surprising overlaps between the challenges of raising tiny humans and leading teams, revealing how the “power tools” you’ve honed at home can be your secret weapons at work.

We’ll delve into how the daily trials of parenthood – from getting them to clean up to teaching them new skills – translate into invaluable leadership skills.

  • The Power of Asking: Underscoring the importance of clear communication and seeking support / participation.
  • Negotiating with Confidence: Highlighting the necessity of advocating for oneself and one’s team.
  • Building Trust: Emphasizing the value of fostering trust and collaboration within and across teams.
  • Strategic Delegation and Empowerment: Highlighting the importance of delegating tasks and empowering both children and team members to learn by doing, even if it means allowing for mistakes.

We’ll share experiences, brainstorm solutions, and maybe even role-play a scenario. Prepare to engage, reflect, and leave with practical tools to conquer the guilt and doubt that often accompany both parenting and leadership. Get ready to embrace the power of the Parent Leader within! After this workshop, you won’t just balance parenting and leadership – you’ll leverage them. Parenting won’t feel like a burden; it will be your superpower.
